Aschemeiercats – A handful of originals
In the literature, Mrs. R. Aschemeier is mentioned for years as the last of the original German Longhair breeder. Since 1968 she bred these cats which she was given, according to their own information, even from an elderly breeder. Mrs. Aschemeier guarded this breed jealously and over the years only a few could count oneselves lucky to own one of these animals. Only after the decision of the breeders to give the breed the original name again in 2008 and to follow the law of the first describer, Mrs. Aschemeier‘s trust was great enough and she decided to give four cats and a tomcat to the new conservation breeding project. As she received her first cats in young breeding cats, so she gave them to the current DLH-breeders.
